Security and privacy, in plain words.

The people you meet at a show are your business, not ours. This page explains where your data lives, who can see it, and how cards are read. The legal version is in our privacy policy.

Backed up every night

And saved on your phone first, so losing signal never costs you a lead.

Encrypted connections

Everything between the app and our server travels over HTTPS.

Only you and your team

Your contacts are visible to you and to the teammates you invite. Nobody else.

No ads, no data sales

We don't sell data or show ads. The app doesn't track you.

Where your data lives

Everything you capture is saved on your phone first, in the app's own private storage, so it works without signal. When you're online, it's copied to our secure servers, so a lost or wiped phone never means lost contacts.

Backups

We back up the database every night. Backups are kept for up to 60 days, then deleted. On Android, the phone's own encrypted backup can also keep a safety copy of your records, if backup is turned on in the phone's settings.

Who can see your contacts

  • You. Each account has its own private space.
  • Your teammates, for the teams you've joined or invited them to.
  • Us, only when needed: to keep the service running, fix a problem you've reported, or when the law requires it. We never browse your contacts.

We never read your phone's address book. TradeShowPal only holds the contacts you capture in it.

How cards and badges are read

First on your phone, the moment you take the photo, with no signal needed. When you're online, TradeShowPal then reads the photo of a card or badge again with AI, on our servers, to tell job titles from company names and pick out every phone number and its country. Only the details it finds go back to your lead; nothing else is kept from that reading. The photo itself is saved with the lead and backed up to our server like the rest of your data, so your team can see it.

Some codes and NFC cards hold a link instead of the details themselves, for example to a digital business card. Our server opens that link, the way a browser would, and reads the contact details or the "Save contact" file behind it. It only ever opens public web addresses.

Your digital business card

It holds only the details you put on it. Anyone with its link or QR code can see them, until you change or delete the card. The photo of your printed card stays on your phone. When you share it, the app shows you when it was opened and saved, and nothing about who opened it.

Exhibitor lists

When you load a show's exhibitor list from a link, our servers open that page, the way a browser would, and read the list with AI. Only trade show exhibitor lists are read: social networks and similar sites are refused. If a list needs signing in and you choose to give your show login, it's used for that one import and never stored, logged or shown to your team.

AI notes

AI notes are optional. They run only for accounts that have them, and only when someone in your team presses "Write meeting notes" on a lead. TradeShowPal then turns that lead's voice memos and the notes you typed into a transcript and meeting notes, which come back to your workspace for your team to see.

Only that lead is used, nothing else from your workspace. Our own record of AI use holds counts and costs, never what was said. AI can get things wrong, so read the notes and the follow-up email before you rely on them.

Your controls

  • Export your leads from the web workspace as a spreadsheet (CSV), at any time.
  • Delete your account from the app or the web workspace, at any time. See how to delete your account.
  • Remove the copy on a phone: uninstall the app, or clear its storage in Android's settings.
